We at Transcon are wanting to update you on a couple of changes.
We are sad to report that Craig Mills has decided to leave Transcon. With his young family, Craig didn't feel that he wanted to spend the amount of time away from home that he had been. This spring bull sale season was the busiest Transcon has ever had and there was not much opportunity to spend time at home from the middle of February through March. Craig has made a very valuable contribution over the years and we appreciate all he has done. Not only did he make a valuable contribution but he was a damn nice guy to be around and be associated with. We wish Craig and Sandy well in whatever they choose to pursue in the future.
We are pleased to announce that to take over the Manitoba and Saskatchewan area, we have hired John Best from Carman, MB. John, his wife Joanne, and Lois & Blaine Gould started Rawhide Livestock Services a year ago. When we approached John we knew they had their own business but felt it worth pursuing as he was already known by many breeders and had shown interest in the sales management business. As a group they decided that this was a good opportunity for John so they will be dissolving Rawhide Livestock Services.
John will be out at Simmental events this summer and if you haven't met, we would encourage you to do so. We feel he is a very solid individual with a well rounded background in the purebred industry. John's mild mannered and personable nature makes him very likeable and approachable. He will be stopping in and making farm visits this summer. We are proud to have John as part of the "Transcon Team".
