~ Testimonials ~

Over the last ten years we have put our trust in Jay Good and Transcon to attend bull sales in order to find bulls that will work for us. We have 280 commercial cows and 30 fullbloods calving at the end of January into February and March, so it is difficult to leave the farm to attend the sales.

Jay has seen our operation numerous times and as a result, he is very familiar with our needs. Over the years Jay and Transcon have done an excellent job of choosing more than ten bulls to improve our herd while taking into consideration what is important to us such as price, color and proven performance. We have been satisfied with their choices and have had good luck with their selections.

Jay Good,
Your request for a testimonial gives me the opportunity to send a thank you letter that I’ve thought about since our sale on December 3, 2004. I give you full credit for putting the sale together and making it happen. A little background - Anne and I wrote in February 1995 that we would be out of the papered cattle in ten years. I picked the date of December 3, 2004 at that time. With the advent of BSE on May 20, 2003 and the nearing of the dispersal date, Anne started to get cold feet. This is where you stepped in. We would not have had a dispersal without you. Anne was only going to allow us to sell 50 to 60 cows along with the normal bull sale. Your comments that day got the focus back to a complete dispersal and the total success both financially and emotionally that I wanted.

You and the staff at Transcon conducted yourselves with the utmost professionalism. I know how many other sales you had at the same time yet you always made us feel ours was the sale you were focused on. Bob and Heather James covered their ends well, but because of our extensive experience with our own sales, they were not called on as much. You, Craig and Bob Wilson were able to take us to the next level of reaching out to customers, mostly purebred, that we could not reach ourselves.

It was a class act from start to finish - the welcome letter, the help and guidance on the sale order, and the integrity with order bids. You used only the money that was needed to buy the animal and didn’t abuse your “on order” clients. You helped make this dispersal what I had hoped; a sale that will go down in the history books as one of the great ones. I’m also holding you to your word to do the eulogy at my funeral. I do hope that is several years away.

Quentin Stevick, Bar 15 Simmentals

It has been a real pleasure to work with the people involved in Transcon. The advantages of working with this management team have been great and we trust and respect the integrity of this group. They have made visual appraisals of our cattle for potential customers who cannot attend the sale and orders were placed with confidence. As well, we have entrusted them to buy animals for us "sight unseen" with positive results. We have seen an increased exposure of our program as a result of Transcon's management and we look forward to continuing to work with this group in the future.
Richard & Laureen, Twin Chief Simmentals

With its team of highly qualified and honest people, Transcon has certainly helped us market and purchase cattle all over Canada. They represent every breeder and I'm assured that they will work for our best interest when it comes time to buy or sell cattle. Their knowledge of this industry is also part of the reason why we choose to work with Transcon. To put it simply, Transcon has really added value to our program.
